Why Choose Us?
The transitions of aging can sometimes feel like a storm at sea – the waters are rough and it can be hard to know where to turn. The home health care Topeka seniors need is provided by the experts at Grace Home Care who understand this on a personal level, and we’ve designed our care services to be a beacon for our clients and their family members. We’re here to help you navigate care arrangements whenever the need arises, and to make sure you have a trusted guide to help you weather any storm so that you and your loved ones can envision a brighter future. To provide this dedicated support, we’ve created a culture of learning for our employees and caregiving team, so they are always keeping up with best care practices and improving the way we understand and serve our clients’ needs.
Founded in 2011 as Blassingame Home Care by local community leader Bev Blassingame, Grace Home Care has evolved to become the premier in-home care provider for seniors and families in Topeka and the surrounding area. Our rebranding as Grace Home Care is an homage to Bev, now retired, who provided grace under pressure for clients and families through the transitions of later life. That grace guides our services today under new leadership from our highly experienced Executive Director Kate Clemmons and our parent company, Briggs Healthcare.
At Grace Home Care, our mission is to provide the highest level of service, expertise, and attentiveness to the older adults, families, and community we serve through personalized, compassionate, and responsive in-home care.
Kate Clemmons, Executive Director
Kate Clemmons brings a wealth of business and senior care experience to her role as Executive Director of Grace Home Care. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washburn University.
After several years in the business world, Kate pursued a career in senior care because she wanted to be part of offering a service that made a difference in people’s lives. Her mother was a nursing facility activities director and her mother-in-law was a nursing facility surveyor, which gave Kate a unique insight into the long-term care industry. After working on the senior living facility side of the industry, Kate was approached by Bev Blassingame to take over Blassingame Home Care upon her retirement. Kate has enjoyed transitioning Blassingame Home Care to Grace Home Care and looks forward to serving clients throughout the Topeka area.
Caregiver Training with Your Needs in Mind
Each of our clients has unique care needs that require unique understanding and assistance. That’s why all our caregivers receive ongoing training to help them provide better care. At Grace Home Care, we strive to ensure that each member of our care team is extensively trained, certified, and confident in his or her role so that the home health care Topeka seniors need and deserve is delivered. On average, most home care agencies provide their caregivers with about 10 hours of general training. At Grace Home Care, however, we provide over 120 hours of highly specialized in home caregiver training to ensure our caregivers are confident in their work.
To fulfill this commitment to both our clients and our caregivers, we have recently partnered with the Institute for Professional Care Education, a nationally renowned training and certification agency for caregiving professionals, and we will soon be offering custom training programs to all our caregivers, because better training leads to better care.
You Help Make Us a Better Agency
At Grace Home Care, we’ve designed all our services with you in mind, and you are an important part of our growth as Topeka’s top senior care agency. The insight and opinions of our clients are extremely important to us as we continue to learn, grow, and improve our services. That’s why we work with Home Care Pulse, an independent customer satisfaction firm, to continually collect feedback from our clients in order to analyze and improve our services and processes so that we can continue to provide you with the highest quality care.
