Q. Will I be able to reach a caregiver after hours? If so, how can I contact someone after hours?
Yes, our phone is always answered by a real person. Clients can call us at 785-286-2273.
Q: How are your caregivers screened?
We are very serious about the safety of our clients. All of our caregivers and staff members must pass a thorough background check and in-person interview before they can become part of our team. Our screening process includes the following:

  • Initial drug screening upon offer of employment and random drug testing to assure a drug free workforce.
  • Completion of a national criminal background check for all caregivers.
  • Shawnee County Public Access background checks against civil, criminal, domestic, probate and traffic records.
  • Personal and work reference checks.
Q. What if my caregiver is sick and cannot make it to my house?
If your regular caregiver is sick or otherwise unable to make it to your home, we will make every effort to send another caregiver to your home to ensure that you receive the assistance you need.
Q: Are your caregivers insured and bonded?
Yes. All of our caregivers are insured and bonded for your protection and peace of mind. Our insurance policy protects our clients against breakage or theft of property, as well as general liabilities such as bodily injury or property damage. Because our caregivers are fully employed by us, they are also covered under worker’s compensation and unemployment insurance.
Q: In what areas are your services available?
Grace Home Care proudly provides Topeka home care services to seniors and families in the Topeka, Kansas area and in other select areas of Shawnee County. For a full list of the communities we serve, please visit our Service Area page.
Q. What makes Grace Home Care different from other in-home care companies?
Simply put, our caregivers. We are very particular about the caregivers we hire and take all the necessary steps to ensure that they are the best, not only when it comes to technical care, but also compassion, empathy, and professionalism. We extensively train all our caregivers and provide ongoing training opportunities to keep our caregivers up to date on new care techniques and best practices so that they feel confident in providing top quality care.
