Grace Home Care holds a Kansas Home Health Agency Class B Operating License (ID number T-014-047), and is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau.
Founded in 2011 as Blassingame Home Care by local community leader Bev Blassingame, Grace Home Care has evolved to become the premier in-home care provider for seniors and families in Topeka and the surrounding area. Our rebranding as Grace Home Care is a tribute to Bev, now retired, who provided grace under pressure for clients and families through the transitions of later life. That grace guides our services today under new leadership from our highly experienced Executive Director Kate Clemmons and our parent company, Briggs Healthcare.
At Grace Home Care, our mission is to provide the highest level of service, expertise, and attentiveness to the Topeka area older adults, families, and community we serve through personalized, compassionate, and responsive in-home care.
Kate Clemmons, Executive Director
Kate Clemmons brings a wealth of business and senior care experience to her role as Executive Director of Grace Home Care. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washburn University.
After several years in the business world, Kate pursued a career in senior care because she wanted to be part of offering a service that made a difference in people’s lives. Her mother was a nursing facility activities director, and her mother-in-law was a nursing facility surveyor, which gave Kate a unique insight into the long-term care industry. After working on the senior living facility side of the industry, Kate was approached by Bev Blassingame to take over Blassingame Home Care upon her retirement. Kate has enjoyed transitioning Blassingame Home Care to Grace Home Care and looks forward to serving clients throughout the Topeka area.
Topeka Caregiver Training with Your Needs in Mind
Each of our clients has unique care needs that require special understanding and assistance. That’s why all our caregivers receive ongoing training to help them provide better care. At Grace Home Care, we strive to ensure that our Topeka caregivers are extensively trained, certified, and confident in their role so that we consistently provide exceptional Topeka dementia care and senior care services. On average, most home care agencies provide their caregivers with about 10 hours of general training. At Grace Home Care, however, we provide over 120 hours of highly specialized in-home caregiver training to ensure our caregivers are confident in their work.
To fulfill this commitment to our clients and caregivers, we partner with the Institute for Professional Care Education (now Relias Learning), a nationally renowned training and certification agency for caregiving professionals, and we offer custom training programs to all our caregivers because better training leads to better care.
